Fall Wreath

Okay, so I've been slacking this past weekend...my bad. I'll try my best to do better this week, Girl Scout's honor. :-D

This project is actually one that I made, for the 2nd time, last week. Even though we're in our hottest week of Summer yet, Fall is just around the corner (Yay for cooler weather!). After seeing wreaths priced at $50+ in stores, I decided this was definitely a DIY project. Here's a quick, easy, and cheap way to beautify your door or wall, wherever you'd like, for upcoming Fall!

All of the materials were purchased at Hobby Lobby (of course!). Be sure to check the sale ad because florals are on sale for 50% off at least twice a month so, wait to purchase everything then. I purchased the glitter leaf/berry branches and grapevine wreath...both in the floral section. I also purchased a feather pick, glitter corn pick, and pumpkin pick...all from the Fall seasonal section.

First thing, cut the leaves off the branches. Starting at the top, with leaves turned facing the same direction (I went along with the direction of the grapevine), tuck the leaves into the wreath and secure each with a dollop of hot glue. Continue in this fashion until completely covered. At this point, you can go back and add a few berry branches (I used 4 total), which I not only secured with hot glue but also with floral wire.

To finish the wreath off, use wire to attach the corn and pumpkin in the bottom corner. You can also add a bow (my 1st attempt ever at a bow...try to contain your laughter) if you wish. It looks great without one, too! Hope you like it!

  1. Love it! I can hardly picture you having the free time for projects such as this. My memories of you are on the couch at the house on La Rhonda Drive with a million books scattered around you and Lindsey and whoever else may be over at the house studying! Glad to see you are finding "hobby time". Wish you were closer so you could help me create a cute wreath for my classroom door.. and front door of my house. :)

  2. Ha, I remember La Rhonda Drive! I wish I were closer too because I would definitely be more than happy to help you! Maybe I'll add a blog for a school wreath since Mom could probably use one, too!
